Elements of noir and humor go hand in hand in three short films by Ray Pelka. OFF THE ROOF is a tragicomedy about love in an apartment complex which is presented like a Manhattan fairy tale with (of course)0 drug use and knock-off goods. THE LAST RIDE is a black and white caper filmed on a bike and in a car from Midwood to Coney Island in which the urban landscape sits at stark odds with the tawdry plot. THE STABBING portrays the late night odyssey of a man with a mysterious wound. The real fades into an ethereal portrait of characters and settings in this playful and poignant piece.
