Part-stoner comedy, part-analog horror, SHOCK INFINITY is a psychedelic triptych of loosely connected tales surrounding Jen, the lead singer of the fictional post-punk band Wen. Shot entirely in Cleveland and Northeast Ohio, Jake Griswold’s film oozes the grit, chaos, and charm of the rust belt alongside a heavy dose of magical realism.
Avoiding bleak nihilism or wishful image rehabilitation, SHOCK INFINITY radiates in the environmental texture of the greater Cleveland area. The film travels between sticky rock and roll clubs, chilly woodland cabins, and backyard pool parties where sunshine is a state of mind. Colorful characters sprout from the ashes of an industrial city sent into economic free fall.
The soundtrack is packed with banging original tunes, including contributions from legendary noise artist Aaron Dilloway, who also makes an on-screen appearance.
